Item details

As I'm original from Hungary, I have to travel through this famous landmark on my way to my home town. This is the Keleti Palyaudvar which translates as Eastern Rail Station in English. In the strong evening sun only the outlines of the station building's facade with very few details were visible. I couldn't resist that beautiful light that almost illuminated that avenue leading to it.

Full description

My latest attempt to paint this magnificent architecture of the Eastern Railway Station in Budapest, Hungary. I admit I'm not great at painting cars so I kept them as simple shapes leaving out the whites of the paper where the light catches them. I still think they look car-like. I added some figures that puts things into scale and make the scene more alive. Anyone who has visited Hungary most likely passed by or travelled to or from this station building, one of the famous landmarks of Budapest.

Watercolour on 300gm Bockingford paper. Size: 16 x 12 inches. Year: 2022.
