Item details

Made from a single slab of air dried ash, this dramatically grained table creates a striking silhouette. The table consists of a table top made from a full width board showcasing the intricate and beautiful contractsing light and dark grain patterns sitting on top of angled legs cut from the same slab of timber. Made using hand cut joinery throughout and finished with Danish Oil, this is a one off unique piece.

This table was inspired by the timber it was made from. Cut from a single slab of ash which came from a windfallen tree in rural northumberland, this slab had been slowly drying in the workshop for three years.It took three years of looking at this piece of beautifully but challengingly grained wood to discover what it was destined to become. I knew I wanted to keep as much of the slab whole for the top as possible which influenced its final size, the leg construction and overal dimensions of the piece
