My daughter and I went for a day out in Brighton, years ago, and saw some bottle table lamps, which she likes, so I made some for her, which she took to Uni and used in her "cool student flat" when she came home they did, so some are being offered for sale to new discerning owners....

Full description

A few years ago I made this table lamp from an old grand marnier bottle that I found when I was helping clearing out my dads drinks cabinet (he gave up drinking!). The main achievement is drilling the hole for the cable without the bottle breaking, then making a wooden plug (using a wood lathe) that is just a nice fit for the cable and steel tube, then gluing it in with epoxy resin. It takes quite a while, and it is second hand, as I used it for a few months. As I am not an electrician I will remove the plug and the buyer will have to ask a competent person to check the electrics before reconnecting it....I am sure you will agree if you think about it... the bulb and the shade are not included. It is not perfect, some of the wax has fallen off...the labels are a bit shabby...but it is probably 30 or 40 years old, my dad wasn't a big drinker...and it might be vintage...I don't know...but, it is a charming table lamp, be a shame to let it go to a new owner to love....but I have so many now... the bulb socket is from B&Q, cost £5, then the cable cost £2....so it really is good value...
