The Ginkgo pronounced 'ginkoo', is also known as the maidenhair tree. The pattern of the veins in the leaf is called venation. The Ginkgo biloba leaf has an unusual dichotomous venation. The leaves are unique among seed plants, being fan-shaped with veins radiating out into the leaf blade. It is the oldest tree species in the world.
The ginkgo is a symbol of longevity (the tree can live for a thousand years) and of a more profound endurance, four ginkgos survived the blast at Hiroshima and are still growing today. The ginkgo has exceptional resistance to weather, pests and pollution. Ginkgo was the first plant species that restarted growing in the spring following the nuclear explosion in Hiroshima.
Known as a 'living fossil', the Ginkgo biloba is the world's oldest living tree species: it was around 350 million years ago.

Full description
Ginkgo leaf pendant. This is a natural ginkgo leaf electroformed in pure silver. Electroformed metal is pure, due to its refined crystal structure with multiple layers of electroformed metal molecularly bonded together. The vivid detail and the beauty of nature’s creation can be seen and you have the natural item too!
I’ve used fine silver with the highest millesimal fineness (purity) of silver used for jewellery making. Fine silver contains 99.9% silver. It's also called pure silver.
This unique precious metal jewellery is made from a botanical item - a nice conversation piece and admirers will be surprised that this is a real leaf.
An optional gift service provides gift wrapping, your personalised message, and presentation in a high-quality jewellery box ready for gift giving (Black leatherette covering with matching velvet flat pendant pad. White satin top liner. Dimensions: 62 x 67 x 28 mm).
