The snowdrop is symbolic of hope and new beginnings, growing as it does at the start of the year, the first sign of the spring to come.
I have grown this flower in my garden and preserved it using the traditional method of flower pressing.
It is mounted on white paper, annotated with the name of the plant and its meaning, and then packaged in a manilla envelope with a window to view the flower inside.
When framing pressed flowers I suggest using a mount or spacer so the flower does not come into contact with the glass. Pressed flowers, once framed, last for years, but I always recommend hanging pressed flowers away from direct sunlight, though their colours will change slowly, over time.
