This warm, orange-red stone is a variety of Chalcedony, a member of the Quartz family.
Used as an adornment by man for over 4,500 years, this stone has come to symbolise health, luck and royalty.
It was prescribed by ancient healers to 'invigorate the blood'.
It is considered a birthstone for July and Cancer, as an alternative to Ruby.
With their pretty orange-and-yellow colour, I also think these earrings would make a good Easter gift as an alternative to chocolate.

Graduating sunset shades of orange and yellow.
Each of these cheerful earrings features a 6mm, burnt orange, frosted Carnelian, two 4mm natural Carnelian, a tiny gold vermeil bead, and a trio of Swarovski crystals for sparkle.
The Swarovski crystals are in the colours 'topaz', 'light topaz', and 'jonquil'.
The beads are hung from gold vermeil ear-wires.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold.
These earrings measure approximately 1.35 inches (3cm).
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
