I have called this piece “Hues and Blues” because the way the glass has flowed in the firing process has left little pockets of transparent areas which produces interest and tonal differences.

The lovely feature of these pieces is that everyone sees it in their own way. What does it remind you of?

Full description

This clock is made by creating a palette of different colour tones of blue, turquoise and grey glass in both transparent and opaque styles. The pieces of glass are weighed, and a calculation is made as to how big the size of glass will likely flow to when it is melted. A steel circular dam is used to contain the glass pieces and the glass is heated to a high temperature in a kiln so that the glass will naturally flow into unique patterns - no two pieces of glass art using this method will ever turn out the same.

The piece is then coldworked by hand, (finished by grinding off any rough or sharp edges and polishing the piece and drilling a hole before finally installing the clock mechanism.

This beautiful clock is presented on a 15cm X 8cm x 2cm oak stand (included) and requires 1 x AA battery (supplied). The clock measures approx 23cm high (24cm high when mounted in stand) and 24cm wide.
