Santalum Album
Sandalwood is the name of a class of forests of trees in the genus Santalum. The woods are heavy and fine-grained and retain their fragrance for decades. Sandalwood oil is an essential oil obtained from the steam distillation of chips and billets cut from the heartwood of various species of these trees. Although expensive, this oil has wonderful qualities creating a calming and harmonizing effect while reducing tension and confusion. The oil has a woody, exotic, subtle and persistent smell.
