Wabi sabi is a Japanese aesthetic philosophy that values imperfection, impermanence, and simplicity. It celebrates the beauty of things that are rough, aged, and natural, and recognizes the fleeting nature of life. In wabi sabi style, art is created with a sense of humility, minimalism, and a focus on the inherent beauty of the materials used.
I incorporated wabi sabi and encaustic abstract art in my work to create pieces that are rustic, textured, and simple, with imperfections celebrated rather than concealed. My intention is to create a sense of calm and harmony through the use of minimalistic elements and natural materials.
This canvas is latex coated for UV protection. The stretcher bars have a depth of 1.2'' and are made from 100% renewable, kiln- dried, knot-free, finger jointed wood, crafted in the UK. All canvases are finished with hanging hardware and clear plastic bump stops and securely wrapped and packed in corrugated card for delivery.
