Full description

This graceful yew wood ballpoint pen is hand crafted on Sanday, Orkney Islands. It is made from a piece of a 400 year old tree which was damaged in a thunderstorm around 20 years ago.

Hand crafted in my studio overlooking the beach, the dark brown and tan colour of the grain are particularly striking in this pen, complimented by the rose gold tip, clip, centre band and top finial. I have turned the barrels of the pen to be at their widest at the centre, giving the pen a neutral balance in the hand.

The twist mechanism is mounted in the centre of the pen, so you rotate the two halves of the pen in opposite directions to propel and retract the writing nib.

This yew pen uses a Cross refill (black ink supplied), which is changed by simply pulling the two halves of the pen apart and unscrewing the end of the refill. There are no little springs to get lost with this pen!

Postage and packing are included in the price.
