Meet Wonky!
A cute, hand-made to order (please contact us with specific requirements), needle-felted sheep using only 100% wool. Wonky has been made using the wool from our own sheep, who live on our land on the edge of Dartmoor. I like to name each sheep I make based on either the sheep they remind me of, or the sheep whose fleece I have used. Each little sheep's head is often positioned on an angle as it reminds me of the way in which our sheep look and stretch for treats (you can see some of our sheep on our shop info page)!

How Wonky is made:
Initially the raw fleece is washed and dried. Some of it is then carded (a process of combing the wool so that the fibers untangle). This is used to make the body, legs, head and ears by needle felting. Sometimes I use carded wool for the final fleece or the natural un-carded locks.

This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Read the Folksy Returns Policy.

Meet Wonky!

A cute, hand-made to order, needle-felted sheep using only 100% wool. Wonky is made using the wool from our own sheep, who live on our land on the edge of Dartmoor. I like to name each sheep I make based on either the sheep they remind me of, or the sheep whose fleece I have used. Each little sheep's head is often positioned on an angle as it reminds me of the way in which our sheep look and stretch for treats (you can see some of our sheep on our shop info page)! We actually have a sheep called Wonky and you can see her in the photos with her lambs.

The Fleece

Each year, in May (if the fleece has risen sufficiently), a professional shearer visits to take the fleece off the sheep - this is an important welfare process to ensure the flock stay in the best condition. They then regrow their fleece, ready for the next winter!

Wonky, as in the photos, has the following approximate dimensions:

Height - 9cm

Length - 15cm

Width - 9cm (lots of treats)

Wonky would make a lovely gift or addition to your house but she is not a toy and therefore not suitable for young children or pets.
