I've recently discovered the joy of drawing album covers with biros (or should I say rediscovered, since we all did that as kids?). It makes a nice change from painting, and I must say the pace is quite a change. It's a much slower process, making the experience one of mindfulness, and that's something coming from me, I don't normally go in for all that relaxation stuff. You've probably noticed it's quite a bit higher in price than my other pieces - this reflects the time it took to make it. I could have listened to The Jam's entire output several times over!
I picked this album for a few reasons. Artistically it's a strong design with great colours, and I also thought it would be a great challenge for me, with all of those little individual artworks to draw. And musically speaking, Paul Weller was my first pop star hero. I finally got to see him last year. Caught Covid for my troubles - that's entertainment!
