Looking at existing collages and creating my own using magazine scraps , I recreated these as paintigs to become a much more sustainable product copying the exact textures and colors of the original paper collages. I think it gives a very modern,patchwork effect than if i'd just created a straight painting. and is far more quirky.

Full description
A very striking strutting Cockerel in vibrant sharp color. Painted using watercolor painted onto thick smooth watercolor paper and Inspired by an original collage, scaled down then painted in patches to resemble the original collage work.
I decided to rework the original collage design as a one off original painting as the collage lacked permanence and the subsequent prints, which were acrylic transfer, lacked the original detail. This watercolor version is a much better quality item and as it's painted using quality paints and acid free paper it should last a long time withought any fade or deterioration.
Ideal gift for an owner or breeder of chickens and general animal/bird lover. Punchy, jolly design for a splash of color and contemporary style.
Great for a kid's room or a quirky artwork for the kitchen, office or lounge.
