I adore wet felting and am basically self taught but have been to a class to learn the basics. 2018 was a big making time but since then I have been distracted with caring for mum and dad that big projects have taken a bit of a back step in my life. The artwork I have currently are pieces I had in Huddersfield Art Galley shop before they closed for refurbishment (and Covid). So they have been boxed in my craft room as I’ve not done any craft fairs that would show them off to their best. Hope everyone like them and I can find new homes for them as they need to escape from my craft room and find a new home.

Full description
This piece is a Wet felted piece and is an interpretation of a landscape of hills, a ploughed field and the foreground is a hedgerow of grasses and dandelion clocks grouped together. I wet felted the background with mainly Corriedale wool and used a lovely shade of dark Heather or purple red for the hills and greens for the mid foreground, with a bit of sparkle in the foreground. I then used my sewing machine in free motion and created some hills and hand embroidery to delvelop the ploughed field. A bit more hand embroidery makes up the end of the field tress and bushes and a few stems and grasses.
I’ve mounted in a black Ikea Ribba 3D 25cm X 25cm square frame with a white mount leaving a 11.5cm aperture containing my artwork. The frame has a clear Perspex (rather than the heavier glass) cover. The frame will stand alone or can be hung on the wall.
