Amethyst is believed to be a calming stone allowing you to quiet your mind, which can aid in sleep & meditation. Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty and legendary powers to soothe the mind and emotions. It is the stone of St. Valentine and faithful love.
Peridot is one of only two gems (Diamond is the other) formed not in the Earths crust, but in molten rock of the upper mantle and brought to the surface by the tremendous forces of earthquakes and volcanoes. It is one of the few gemstones that forms in only one colour.
The name Haematite is derived from the Greek word for blood (haima), due to the red colouration found in some varieties of haematite. The color of haematite is often used as a pigment.
