I'd wanted to make a barrel stave chair for a while. When we moved back to Scotland it was literally the first thing I did! The chairs we make today are quite different from that first one being higher more upright and altogether a far better chair, but that's evolution at its best. I still have the first one I made as a daily reminder that everyday is a school day and you never stop learning.

Based on an Adirondack design but with a higher more level seat, which makes it easier to get in and out off without sacrificing the chill factor.Oil. finished with 4 coats of Danish oil for a tactile mat finish that brings out the natural colour of the wood. All stainless steel screws means these will last for years.
