Full description
After making a very cute bee for a friends daughter, I knew I had to make another one! Perfect for the collector of bee art. It’s looks good hanging from a window or against a light coloured wall.
Made with the copper foil method each piece of glass is hand cut, grinded, wrapped in copper foil and then soldered. The wings are made with some beautiful iridescent clear glass which give it that extra little magic. Extra wire work creates the eyelashes and the antennas. It then goes through a cleaning process and a black patina applied on the solder. Finally it is waxed and polished. There are two hanging hoops for either nylon string (supplied) or a chain/ ribbon if preferred. A window sucker will be strong enough to hang it however it is recommended to fix it to a more secure hook.
Measures 18cm x 18cm not including the antennas.
Care should be taken when handling. This is not a toy.
To clean lighter wipe with damp cloth. In time if needed re wax with caruba wax and buff up to polish.
