This silk I bought when setting up home in Delhi. I bought a lot for curtains etc. what I didn’t use I brought home. The fabric is textured so , when I decided I should start to use my fabric collection,I just gave it a simple abstract formal design.

Full description
This is a one-off handmade lampshade made from a cream silk-blend fabric onto which I have hand embroidered an abstract floral design. Sized to suit as a shade for a table lamp.
All of Grasshopper Rag's designs are made by hand from my Gloucestershire home. I work in fabrics collected over years of travelling and seeking out interesting materials. Many of the designs are one-offs or small editions of lampshades. The fabric itself determines how it is translated into the shade. For some, the fabric is left to speak for itself. For others, careful additions are made - embroidery , lace or perhaps a tiny pom pom! I also dye and print fabrics. The intended result is to be fun but simple enough to remain stylish and contemporary.
The dimensions of this shade are 20cm high x 20cm diameter.
