This is a beautiful Lewis and Wood design with spire- like shapes. These remind me of a backgammon board. I lived in Greece for a while and collected traditional embroidery patterns. I also frequently saw people playing ‘tavali’.

Full description
I embroidered this backgammon game by adapting a Greek counted thread work design. It is a Lewis and Wood linen , with a cotton drawstring bag for the wooden pieces, dice and instructions .
The board measures 38 cms square when open for play.
There is a loop on the border of the board through which to attach the bag , over which the board is folded and tied. This makes is convenient for storage and travel.
My linen backgammon game would make an unusual gift for any one over the age of 8. I could personalise the game by embroidering a name on the bag. I would charge 5 extra for this.
