Full description
Original 1963 vintage sewing pattern from Simplicity, number 5321.
Pattern envelope description:
Juniors and misses one-piece dress.
The dress features an empire waistline with a slim skirt gathered to the bodice. Bodice is dart fitted with a scooped neckline and back zipper closing. The baby doll sleeves in v1 are gathered to fit sleeve bands. A ribbon trim is optional. V2 dress is sleeveless.
CONDITION:
The pattern pieces:
This pattern is 60 years old so does show signs of its age - as indeed will we all!
The sleeve piece (for V1) is missing, although the sleeve band piece is present and cut (F). The rest of the pattern pieces are present, uncut and in factory folds. The design includes a sleeveless version as an option (V2) so despite the missing piece it can be made up into a wearable garment as originally intended.
The instruction sheet:
Present and in great condition.
The envelope:
Given its age this is in remarkably good condition. There are a few creases to the corners and the flap has been folded in along the perforation line but is still fully attached. There are some signs of age-related discolouration but that is to be expected and is nothing major. It does not affect the instruction sheet or the pattern tissue.
