Full description

Original 1941 (I believe) vintage sewing pattern from Simplicity, number 3689.

Pattern envelope description:

Misses' and Women's accessory dress. Yoke is formed by bringing back shoulder edge forward. Front of blouse seamed part way when vestees are to be used; otherwise closed with concealed slide fastener. Skirt in 10 sections. Sleeves are darted in armhole; long sleeve gathers to a cuff; short sleeve has tucks at lower edge. Vestees: with collar, with buttons down front, with bow, all have elastic around waist.

CONDITION:

The pattern pieces:

This pattern is 80 years old so does show signs of its age - as indeed will we all!

The pattern is still in its factory folds.

The instruction sheet:

As new, no signs of wear at all. Slight discolouration due to the age of the paper but this is down to time spent in storage and not through being used.

The envelope:

This shows some wear, as would be expected, but is in remarkably good condition considering its age.

The bottom flap is present and complete although folded and creased.

The sides, edges and the corners are looking a little worn and there is a fold to the overlap on the back.

The envelope still holds the pattern pieces but it must be considered to be indicative of its age.
