Full description

Gilt Japanese thread no.8

2 x 2m length (to allow couching two strands together).

No.8 is slightly finer than no.9.

Japanese gold thread is used for goldwork, weaving and embroidery. It consists of a yellow core thread wrapped with gilt foil.

To use, couch it down in pairs with a waxed sewing thread every 3-4mm. The ends will need to be 'plunged' (taken through) to the back and stitched back to secure them.

Also available in other colours as T70 thread.

Handmade in the UK.

I endeavour to provide fair shipping charges, however if the actual shipping cost is considerably less than the listed shipping cost, then I will refund the difference, allowing a little for packaging and my time. I do not charge more if shipping is higher than expected.

Please note: this thread is not supplied on a reel as shown.
