Item details
Coral found on the Thames foreshore at Wapping. Wooden ships took on ballast in foreign ports to balance cargo or compensate for unloaded cargo on the return journey to London. When they took on cargo they dumped the ballast over the side. Ships were also broken up on the foreshore.
The Coral pieces were collected and cut for me by Mudlark Ronnie G.
