Full description
Unique and bespoke chess and draughts table. Design and construction as my wine table, no metal or plastic pieces, wood all the way. Threads are cut on wooden pieces and simply screwed together. The legs are held with three wooden bolts, please see pictures. This makes it easier for carriage of the piece and fits in a purpose made plywood box ready for a swift assembly. Please see pictures.
The pieces and the inlaid board are in North European Black Oak, hardwood, and Sycamore. The table is made of Ash and spalted Beech, the top came from a particularly special piece of Ash from the crutch of the tree. The darker heartwood can be clearly seen in a Y formation. Also under the table top is the integral storage for the chess and draughts pieces.
