Full description
A simple sunflower stem, made at my old oak dining table. Knitted in hand-dyed Everlasto Natural Cotton String and sculpted by hand, these sunflowers look just as beautiful as a single stem as they do in a bunch. French knitted string covered galvanised steel wire is used to form the shape outer petals of the sunflower, and jute cord forms the distinctive centre of these never wilting heliotropes. They are sturdy, but flexible meaning each stem can be manipulated to the required posittion.
The flower head measures approx. 13cm in diameter and approx. 42cm in length. Each stem is wrapped in tissue and boxed - all the packaging I use is paper-based and fully recyclable. No glue or plastic is used in the making of my string things.
