Fernery is the name for a collection of ferns - either in a Wardian case, a greenhouse, or a specific area of a garden. Ferneries came about during the Victorian 'Fern Frenzy' between 1840’s and 1890’s, where their love affair with ferns invaded all aspects of Victorian life. Ferns and fern motifs appeared everywhere, in homes, gardens, art and literature, and I'm still loving and using them today!

Original wall art -These two fern friends have cozied up for Wet Cyanotype bath together, with added bubbles, salt and a drop of vinegar. After a splash about and a bit of sunbathing, they dried off and are looking good. Now they seek a contemporary frame, a wall to adorn and to be looked at often, oh and talked about.

Created on 300gsm acid free watercolour paper, hinge mounted to a backboard and White mount both acid free and in a fully recyclable protective bag.
Named ‘Linnaeus’ numbered and signed on the reverse, it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity as an Original Artwork 1/1
Mounted Size is 11” x 14” (27.94 x 35.56 cm) ready for you to place into an 11” x 14” frame of your choice. (or theirs!)
Aperture size is 8” x 10” (20.32 x 25.4 cm)
The photogram will be posted out in a board-backed envelope which is reusable and recyclable. I purchase packaging made from recycled products whenever I can.
