Eco & Zero Waste Pledge
My collections create purposeful items, including many that replace single use alternatives.
Where possible I endeavour to reduce my impact on our fragile planet.
When choosing materials I seek to:
- use recycled fabrics
- pad products with wadding that is 100% recycled plastic bottles
- upcycling discontinued fabric sample books to reduce landfill
- source Eco-friendly haberdashery resources where possible
I work towards Zero Waste by:
- using fabric offcuts & scraps to create new fabrics
- using Eco-friendly and recycled packaging
The sun was shining and the sky was blue which inspired me to select these fabrics and create something for a sunny day.

Full description
Good sized handbag with fully adjustable strap which is long enough to be worn crossbody.
This bag is made using fabric saved from landfill which started life within a soft furnishing fabric sample book.
Using traditional patchwork techniques there are two fabrics used a striped one and to contrast an abstract leaf design, as both fabrics originated from the same sample book the colours match beautifully.
I have quilted along the seam lines with a decorative wavy stitch in a soft blue thread.
The flap is held in place by a strong giant popper and finished with a floral bronze effect charm.
The soft cotton strap has also been embellished with the same wavy line stitch as the bag.
Internally the bag has been fully lined with a pretty cream floral print cotton fully encasing the seams for a neat finish. There is a small internal double pocket in the blue outer fabric.
The wadding used to give the bag a soft structure is made using 100% recycled plastic bottles. This along with the repurposed outer fabric make this bag truly eco-friendly.
