Item details
I found an old book of operational helicopter landing sites in the UK at a charity book shop and decided to recycle them. I like the idea of creating bespoke art on unusual items, such as maps. The painting I create often relates to the name or place of the actual map.
These are real helicopter maps that have been desensitised and added to canvas. I only ever use the best quality Acrylic paints.
This painting relates to the traditional tattoo of a lighthouse in stormy weather that one might have seen on a Matelow or smuggler in Eastbourne.
I love to recreate the tattoos of yesteryear and hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I did painting it.
