The Singel is the classic happy accident. After making my Warwick and Stream bookends, I was left with beautifully shaped offcuts.
After mulling over what to do with them, my wife suggested they looked like leaves! Taking inspiration from my Tulip Love You Flower, I simplified the design and the Singel was born!

Full description
This beautiful Singel Birch Plywood Tulip is named after the floating flower market on Singel, Bloemenmarkt, one of Amsterdam's main attractions.
The bulb is crafted from of 12mm Birch Plywood, which has been hand cut and shaped to emphasise the petals of the flower, whilst retaining a minimalist design.
The leaves are made from the same Birch Ply, which have been carefully cut into 12mm strips, then laminated to provide an end grain face. These are then cut into a simple shape to allow the beauty of the wood to shine through.
The base has my signature undercut design, giving the Singel the appearance of floating on your shelf.
All the timber used in making the Singel is from offcuts, which have been sourced in the UK.
The Singel has been finished in wax and is buffed to a satin sheen.
