This dual sided abstract picture allows you to choose which image you prefer. Multicoloured silk fabric and wool fibre scraps have been needle felted to a felt base fabric in an abstract pattern. The needle felting process binds the fabric and fibres to the backing felt without the need for stitching. In addition to binding the fabrics, the needle felting creates a beautiful texture to the surface of the picture, with the raw edges of the fabric left exposed in places to add to the artwork. The fine barbed felting needles push fibres through the felt fabric binding it in place which result in the reverse of the work shows a reverse image of the picture created by the fibres that have been pushed through the silk. This allows you to choose either the vibrant silk fabric picture or a slightly muted version on the reverse created from the threads. The picture has been provided with an 8' x 8" white card mount with a picture area of 4"x 4" and has been mounted in such a way that the piece can easily be reversed.
The listing is for the picture with mount only. The photographs illustrate how the final piece might look framed but the frame is not included in the listing.
