I have taken the last few months off from woodturning to concentrate on my botanical water colour work a few examples of which you can view on my Instagram account. However, I have picked up the chisels again and will be adding new items and old favourites. The latest additions are two attractive sycamore drinks trays but more items to come.
I like to introduce more interest into my work and combing materials such as wood and metal is one way in which I can endeavour to achieve this.

Full description
A lidded pot turned in ash. The lid, also turned in ash, has a pewter insert that has a delicate rose m motif. The piece has been burnished and then waxed to give a pleasant satin finish. As well as being decorative it could be used as a keepsake box or even for fragrant potpourri.
