When mental illnesses are used flippantly as an adjective, not only does it shadow the severity and reality of these conditions, it makes the implication that they're nothing more than personality traits. "I hate mess, I'm so OCD" or "omg the weather is so bipolar today".
Ignorance is not necessarily intentional, there's still a severe lack of education on mental illnesses apart from anxiety and depression. We need to remember what these words truly mean, and how debilitating they can be on a person's every day.
