Full description
Use this piece as a cookie plate, cake plate, or as a piece of art. This platter is 20 cm squares, shaped like a shallow dish and is around 2 cm deep at the centre.
It has a high gloss surface and is food-safe.
The platter is made from 2 main pieces of glass - The base is bright yellow which is capped with a sheet of clear glass. Thin rods of blue glass criss-cross the piece, and a pair of pre-prepared glass dots complete the pattern. The whole piece is baked at around 800 C in the kiln. The kiln controls the heating and cooling, ensuring that all stresses are removed from the glass, making it safe and strong for you. A second session in the kiln on a mould gives the piece its shape.
Each platter has little rubber feet (LRF) glued to the base to provide stability and to protect your furniture.
These are ideal as sweet or nut dishes, or form a decoration in their own right - you choose. They are food-safe but please hand-wash only.
The final photo shows this platter with a set of matching coasters which are available elsewhere in the shop.
