Butterflies are incredible how the seem to be so delicate and flutter in the sky, dependent on where the wind blows as to where they can land.
This stained glass butterfly has been made from lovely aqua muffle glass and light amber wissmach glass for the wings and turquoise glass for the body. They are gorgeous turquoise shades but look blueish in some of the photos.
Each piece of glass has been cut by hand, ground, washed, foiled, soldered together, washed again and polished. Wire has been twisted for the antenna and a ring attached for hanging purposes.
The butterfly measures 11.5 cms across by 9 cms excluding antenna.
This would be lovely hanging in any window or even on a mirror, and they look especially good if hung in pairs or more. They do not have to be hung in direct sunlight to look pretty.
Did you know the collective noun for a group of butterflies is a kaleidoscope?
I will supply one sky hook with each suncatcher for hanging in the window. Please remember to wet the plunger before pushing firmly onto the window.
This will be sent in a large letter box so will go through the letter box.
