Full description
This is a one of a kind, handmade miniature, rocking horse. All my art pieces are designed on paper and then a wire armature is created before quality carded wool if felted on to create the form.
I have been around horses since a small child and adore the antique rocking horses. Following a bit of research, I set about this, my third, small rocking horse ornament. I really wanted to achieve a special thing of beauty.
For this piece, I carefully selected colours to give an antique feel with little dapples and painted glass eyes. It has a real handmade leather bridle with a genuine silver jump ring for the bit. The saddlecloth is felted with a soft teal shade. The saddle is leather with a wool seat. The mane and tail has been created with blended wools and ringlet formed. The horse was given hand sculpted polymer clay hoofs.
Finally I need to thank my husband for taking my rocker base design and bringing it to fruition in solid oak. The rocking horse will be presented in a gift box and authenticated with my steel tag signed Charlotte White Art.
Approximately 13inches length. 11inches high.
Not suitable for children as a toy due to small parts.
