Full description
A hand-thrown teabowl with Japanese style, shino glaze. This piece has some interesting variation in colour and texture..a dusting of wood ash was added to the rim, forming crystalline glaze drips on the inside. The footring, or "koudai" as it is called in Japan, was hand-carved, using a custom-made tool.
Fired in reduction with charcoal and wood to around 1300 degrees centigrade.
Height a shade under 3 ins, width just under 4 ins
Artist's seal applied to the base.
