Cyanotype printing is an early form of photography from the 19th century, and doesn't require a camera. The prints are taken by laying foliage on paper that has been treated with light sensitive chemicals and then exposing it to natural sunlight. They are traditionally a rich dark blue with a white print, however colours and patterns can be added by using water, vinegar, salt and other substances during the process. This is then called wet cyanotype printing. All my prints use plants and flowers from my garden and foliage found on walks around my local area.

Full description
This is a lovely card made from an original wet cyanotype print and highlighted with 24ct gold leaf. The print is of a twig from a Tamarisk tree found at my local beach. It has been edged with 18ct gold leafing pen and is surrounded by an embossed square frame. The card is left blank for your own message so is perfect for many different occasions.
This is an original print, not a copy, and I printed it on high quality 300gsm watercolour paper. It would look beautiful in a frame and the print will last for many years but I would suggest keeping it out of strong direct light to prevent any fading.
Please note the colours may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
The card measures 12cm x 12cm and will be sent in a protective cellophane bag and a sturdy board backed envelope. It will be posted 1st class signed for.
