Fair Isle knitting has a long and interesting history. Famous for beautifully intricate and colourful designs, it works beautifully for contemporary accessories and everyday wear. I love it!
The real experts are in Shetland, of course, but I think this wonderful heritage craft deserves its current wide popularity. I couldn't resist adding some Fair Isle pieces to my Heritage Knitwear Range.
This range allows me to combine my love of traditional knitting with my huge enthusiasm for independent wool dyers and British producers. All the yarn I use is carefully chosen for its quality and provenance.

Fingerless gloves, or mittens if you prefer, hand-knitted in soft Blue Faced Leicester wool with a touch of silk.
These Fair Isle gloves are a touch of luxury, designed using traditional Fair Isle patterns.
Fingerless gloves are great for keeping your hands warm whilst leaving your fingers free and this pair are a comfortable, lightweight knit. Easy to wear and lovely and cosy.
The gloves are a medium adult fit.
They can be hand-washed and come with care instructions.
I can also knit these to order in your choice of colour and size and put a custom listing on especially for you. Just contact me through Folksy if this is of interest.
