The journey of a coin to a ring
My name is Paul Mccabe i am from scotland .
Im a father of 4 children and work from home making all different types of items made from old coins.
The story behind why i started crafting jewellery and gifts from coins originated from my hobby metal detecting as ive found hundreds of old coins and wondered if i could use them for something else.
The first item i made was a queen victoria silver shilling coin ring from basic tools, the same tools used 100 years ago in which the men and women from world war one used to make trench art from coins.
I had a few compliments from family members and friends so i invested in better tools and equipment and coins that haven't been buried for 100 years.
I now have been crafting coin art, jewellery and gifts for the last 12 months on online platforms such as facebook, etsy and made in midlothian.
I love what i do and im always coming up with different ideas that can be personal to people
