Full description
I've made this glass pendant by handworking solid glass directly in a propane/oxygen flame. In the centre I have formed a 'galaxy' which hangs above a nebula of multicoloured 'gasses' of yellows, greens and reds. It's a very 3D effect, and due to the usual way borosilicate glass colours work will change with the type of ambient lighting and direction.
What makes this pendant even more unusual is I've given the bottom a question mark/tadpole tail by flicking the hot glass into this unusal squiggle!
The back has a simple design of metalic blues and yellows so can be used as a double sided pendant. I've fitted a black silicone rubber 18inch necklace, with 925 silver catches.
The pendant is around 45mm from top of the loop to the bottom, just under 22mm at the widest point, and 19mm at the thickest central point.
The glass is borosilicate (hard 'pyrex' type glass) and has been fully annealed in a microprocessor controlled kiln to improve toughness.
