Full description
A seven page tutorial (including cover page) with full instructions to weave this beautiful mat in two sizes. This pattern is suitable for intermediate to experienced beadweavers.
While learning the Saraguro beadweaving stitch (a netted brick stitch) I was struck by how much the motifs appearing reminded me of the crocheted doilies my Grandmother used to make. I unearthed her old magazines and patterns and began to play, inspired by the pictures and designs. These experiments resulted in a collection of patterns using seed beads and bugles, including the one offered here. I will be selling the designs for further mats as I complete the instructions.
The instructions include text and diagrams, together with ideas on where to find more information on this intriguing stitch.
