Platters, plates, shallow dishes - they've been called all of these - we'll stick with Platter for now.
This platter is 20 cm squares, shaped like a shallow dish and is around 2 cm deep at the centre.
The platter is made from 11 pieces of glass - The base is clear, with hand-cut sections of different blue glass laid out in a pattern that's proven to be popular..The whole piece is baked at around 800 C in the kiln. The kiln controls the heating and cooling, ensuring that all stresses are removed from the glass, making it safe and strong for you.
A second session in the kiln on a mould gives the piece its shape. Note that this platter has a slight texture to the upper surface.
Each platter has little rubber feet (LRF) glued to the base to provide stability and to protect your furniture.
These are ideal as sweet or nut dishes, or form a decoration in their own right - you choose. They are food-safe but please hand-wash only.
