CUSTOM ORDER FOR TRACY
A winter Hillside
An atmospheric winter scene featuring a snowy hillside, snow-decked conifers, a berried tree and a tiny house all created from scraps of fabric and leftover yarn and lace.
Scraps of fabrics in shades of white and blue, to represent snow and sky have been hand stitched onto a thick felt background. The fabrics are either recycled or are offcuts from previous work - my scrap bag is extensive! Details of the design have been added in simple hand embroidery using threads (some of which are vintage) and two textured yarns - one of them leftover from a project and gifted to me by a crafty friend.
The plaque is edged in blanket stitch using pale blue and white threads to tone with the colours used in the background of the plaque.
The back of the plaque is neatened with commercial felt and a hanging loop, of button-hole stitch in cotton, is securely stitched in place.
Height (excluding hanging loop) - 12.5 cm approx.
Please note this plaque may not be washed. Easel not included.
