Full description
This spalted Rowan (Mountain Ash) bowl was my last project of 2021, its a piece of locally sourced wood I've had in the workshop for a few years that I've been waiting for the chance to put it on the lathe. The spalting is really vivid and gives a lot of interesting patterns, I've kept the design of the bowl simple to show off the grain and spalting.
The bowl is approximately 11cm in diameter and 6.5cm tall. I've finished this bowl in a clear oil which gives a warm sheen.
