I started Saved by Bertie in 2019 after being so frustrated at all the things that get thrown away that could be given a second chance. I diversified into knitting as a result of the lockdown restrictions - so now my shop is a quirky blend of makes!

Having roamed quite a bit down the years (North and South Wales, Isle of Man and Cornwall to name but a few!) I have made a home and life for myself in Perth, Scotland and looking forward to taking my Bertie persona into 2022. New collections and makes - and all reflecting my passion for recycling, upcycling and my love of the natural world!

Traditional Aran knitted garments are not just fabulous to look at, they are hard wearing and often handed down through families.

Full description

Beautiful traditional Aran pattern hooded jacket, to fit 6-12 months. Knitted in a soft but hard wearing wool blend yarn, this is a gender neutral deep red and can be machine washed. The classic cable pattern - said to represent the ropes of the fishermen, bringing them good luck - on the front and sleeves is offset by double moss stitch borders which is also on the back and hood. Natural wood buttons keep the traditional vibe going and a spare button and amount of yarn are included.

The measurements are:

Chest - 20 inches/50 cms

Length - 10.5 inches/27 cms

Sleeve length - 6.5 inches/16 cms

This hooded jacket would make a fabulous gift and would be perfect for Christmas!
