Full description

Do you have any astrophysicists visiting to discuss the universe over a bottle of wine? Or maybe some aliens, or even some smartly dressed men in black suits?

Make it more special with this One-of-a-kind glass marble stopper. Made by hand by melting borosilicate glass (pyrex type glass) direct in a superhot propane & oxygen flame.

Inside this one I have formed a small swirling galaxy hovering over a nebula of swillings gases, sat at a slight angle onto a chrome stopper. This spiral galaxy is made from bubbles along with some touches of black sparkles which all help catch the light and make the stars. The nebula in this is quite complex with lots of creams, blues and yellows, some hints of reds and purples all over a deep lapis blue back ground that forms the back of the marble.

What makes this fun is the odd way borosilicate colours work, which means you'll also find the colours change in different lights, bringing out hidden colours (and making it difficult to capture in a photograph!) This has to be seen in real life!

The marble is just over 26mm in diameter, and the stopper will fit most standard bottles with a rubber collar to help make a good seal.

The marble has been annealed in a digitally controlled kiln, although it is glass so rough handling is NOT recommended, but handwashing is recommended!
