Item details

This bowl has been handmade on our lathe. The timber is reclaimed silver birch from a firewood crate. Once stripped down and nails removed, we planed each piece before glueing up to one large piece. This was then 'turned' to shape on our lathe. Once sanded to a fine finish, two coats of food safe oil have been applied.

The bowl stands 8cm tall and is 27.5cm wide and is ideal for a fruit bowl. There are some areas visible on the bowl which identifies the previous life of the timber!

As with all of our wooden products, we advise against the use of detergents for cleaning, just simply use a damp cloth and dry. The bowl can be given a light coat of olive oil or chopping board oil to maintain.

This was a fun project to make. The timber was really nice to work with once all of the nails had been removed!
