Looking for something a little different? Then how about this gorgeous wibbly wobbly disc tree.
I have crocheted this festive tree hanging using a firm cotton yarn in bright green with sparkly thread for the embroidery
It is made up of 8x 2 piece graduated crocheted discs, 7 single piece discs and a gold sparkly 2 piece star.
Each piece has been embroidered with silver and gold sparkly thread and then 2 matching pieces have been embroidered together with silver and gold thread in a cross stitch pattern.
There are also 7 single piece discs crocheted in a deep burgundy cotton thread.
On the top is a 2 piece gold star.
The pieces have finally all been threaded onto a double piece of bakers twine in sparkly green and red tied with a knot at the base.
The discs are not sewn to each other but are all free to move and hang as they wish, which is why I call it a wibbly wobbly tree.
The tree from the top of the star to the base measures approx. 15cm (6”)
The total hanging length is approx. 25.5cm (10”)
A festive decoration which is very sparkly when it moves and catches the light.
A great addition to your Christmas decor.
Cotton is a sustainable and hard wearing your tree could become a family heirloom.
