I get much of my inspiration from my local area - rural West Wales - the flora, fauna and landscape. The blackthorn hedges look fabulous in early spring. One of the first to blossom, with delicate white flowers on the bare black branches, it's a joy to see after the long winter.

Full description
These pretty little circular studs have blackthorn blossoms with a deep blue background. They are from a range of hedgerow themed accessories.
As with all my jewellery they are made and decorated entirely by hand.
After forming the studs from fine white clay, I imprint the designs. When dry, I sand the sides and round off the corners to ensure they are super smooth to the touch. They then have their first firing. Next I paint them using under-glazes and apply a transparent glaze before firing again to earthenware. The ceramic is glazed on the front and sides and are very smooth whilst retaining the texture of the imprinted design. The result is a pleasantly tactile item.
The posts and backs of the studs are sterling silver.
This is a one-off listing, the earrings in the photographs are the actual pair you will receive.
Each stud is approximately 10mm across (about a third of an inch).
The earrings come in an eco-friendly hand-stamped box.
Matching items are available – if there’s nothing currently listed just ask! The last picture shows some other hedgerow pieces, along with some wrens that inhabit them.
I can also make to order. If you would like something similar in a different colour, shape or size please get in touch. Or even something completely different and I will let you know what's possible!
