Everyone loves to see the bees buzzing around the garden but sadly it’s far too could for them and they’re probably snuggled away somewhere warm. However you can always have your very own glass bee.
This bee sucatcher would make a great gift for anyone who likes bees, a beekeeper or just those people who love their garden.
This suncatcher has made by cutting the glass by hand, grinding each piece to remove any sharp edges, washing, foiling with copper foil, soldering and then washing again. A patina has been applied to the stripes to blacken them, it is then washed again and polished.
The picture shown is not that of the bee you will receive as I’ve not had time to photograph them but it will be similar, the glass used for this bee will be a yellow or amber glass for the body and clear textured glass for the wings. Whilst it won’t be the same it will look just as lovely.
Small black glass nuggets have been used for the eyes and tinned copper wire has been used to make the antenna.
This suncatcher measures 13cms x 9cms.
I will supply a good quality window hook so you can hang your suncatcher as soon as it is received. Please wet before you push it firmly onto the window.
